Standing on the northern side Mahakali looks towards the South and Southwest, she is staring at Yama in the southern direction because devotees do not fear death or Yama.

Due to this reason, God is called Dakshina Kali. Miracles of Mother Kalika Devi is wonderful & powerful. Many God and goddess like samba Sadashiv, Chatur Mukha Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Maha Ganapathi, Subramanya, Mahalaxmi, Raja Rajeshwari, Devendra, Chandra deva, Surya Deva, Vayu deva, Varuna deva, Ganga devi, Agni deva , Rajarishi Vishwamitra, Brahmarishi Vashista. and great sages like Gautama, Agasthya, Bharadwaj, Chiranjeevi, Shri Ram, Hanuman all worship Mahakali daily. They have accomplished their works by worshipping the goddess, Mahakali. This information is clearly specified in the book called “Mahakala Samhita”.

Dakshina Kali is the first of the 10 Mahavidya’s in the Hindu tantric tradition and supreme deity in the Kaliyuga worship tradition. Mahakali is primarily associated with time, death and destruction. Tuesdays and Fridays are auspicious to the goddess. The famous festivals associated with goddess Mahakali are the Kali Pooja and the Navratri. The attribute of Mahakali is that she is the destroyer of evil, time and transformation, provides motherly love and liberation for life.
